Paediatrics

The Paediatric Department of the International Maritime Hospital is equipped to offer clinical care to children from birth to fourteen years of age. It is made up of four main units:

  • Outpatient
  • In-patient
  • Paediatric Emergency Unit (PEU)
  • Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)

We also run sub-specialty clinics including sickle cell clinic and well-baby clinic with immunisation services.

We have a 20-bed paediatric ward situated on the second floor of the Hospital. It is designed to admit both Medical and Surgical in-patients including a Babies’ unit with cots which admits infants.

Our colourfully painted walls with cartoon character designs promote quick recovery and healing. The unit has a play and reading area, equipped with lots of toys and story books to excite kids.

The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) provides specialist care to sick term and preterm babies and is located on the first floor of the hospital in close proximity to the Obstetrics unit. It is designed to admit neonates from 0-1 month of age. It has Incubators, Radiant warmers, Phototherapy units and CPAP machines.
