Radiology / Imaging

Our Imaging department, considered the flagship of IMaH is among the most well equipped imaging centres in Sub-Saharan Africa. We provide a full range of diagnostic, interventional and therapeutic radiology investigations for both adults and children on all the body parts.

Collaborative, client-centered care

IMaH Radiologists collaborate with a variety of different medical and surgical professionals to ensure you receive the best possible treatment. Radiologists and other doctors trained in obstetrics and gynaecology, urology, pediatrics, otorhinolaryngology (ENT)/head and neck surgery, haematology, oncology, gastroenterology and hepatology, cardiovascular medicine, neurology, neurosurgery, orthopedic surgery, sports medicine, or vascular surgery may be part of your care team, depending on your situation.

To deliver efficient imaging services, our radiologists partner with expert radiographers, sonographers and nurses. As a result, your test results are usually accessible soon, and your appointments are coordinated. For your benefit, highly specialized professionals work together.

Our Services

IMaH Radiologists use advanced imaging technology to provide accurate diagnoses to guide your treatment. Only a few medical centres in the country offer many of these cutting-edge imaging techniques.

MRI Scan

Our 3 Tesla MRI scanner – the first of its kind in the country – uses powerful magnets and radio waves to produce full-body images. It features a wide bore for large body sizes, with sedation available for claustrophobic clients. Procedures include:

  • Head and neck scans
  • Abdomen, pelvis, and joint scans
  • Spine and whole-body MRI
  • Foetal MRI, Prostate scan
  • MRI angiography, enterography, functional brain MRI
  • Cranial nerve imaging and more
CT Scan

Our 128-slice CT scanner uses X-rays to produce 3D images with or without contrast. It performs all CT tests including:

  • Head and neck
  • Chest, abdomen, and pelvis
  • Spine, joints, CT perfusion, and CT angiograms
Digital X-Ray

We offer both stationary and mobile digital X-ray machines to capture images of all body parts, including emergency, ward, and ICU cases.

Digital Mammography

We use low-dose X-rays to screen and diagnose breast cancer in a comfortable environment, ensuring accurate and reliable breast imaging.

Fluoroscopy

This continuous X-ray imaging assesses body parts such as the oesophagus, bowels, kidneys, and reproductive system. Common procedures include:

  • Barium/contrast studies
  • Retrograde urethrogram
  • Micturating cystourethrogram (MCUG)
  • Hysterosalpingogram (HSG)
  • Fistulogram and Distal Loopogram
C-arm Imaging

Used mainly in operating theatres for orthopaedic, neurosurgical, interventional, and emergency procedures.

Dental X-Ray

Orthopantomogram (OPG) dental X-rays are available.

Ultrasonography

Ultrasound imaging uses sound waves to capture images of internal organs. It is safe, non-invasive, and does not use radiation. We provide:

  • Doppler scans, 3D foetal ultrasound
  • Thyroid, scrotal, and breast scans
  • Joint ultrasound and guided biopsies
