Prostate Health

Urination and sexual function can be affected if you have a prostate condition. Our urologists treat a variety of prostate problems, including:

  • Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BHP) – Enlargement of your prostate gland
  • Prostatitis – Infection or inflammation of your prostate gland
  • Prostate cancer – Cancerous growth inside your prostate
Prostate Cancer

A PSA (prostate specific antigen) blood test plus a rectal exam can be used by your urologist to check for prostate cancer. Your doctor may use a prostate ultrasound and biopsy to identify prostate cancer.

If you have prostate cancer, your urologist and oncologist will collaborate to create a treatment strategy that is unique to you. Your plan may include surgery or cryotherapy, chemotherapy, and radiation therapy.

Erectile Dysfunction

Erectile Dysfunction (ED) is a very common male health problem that affects up to 66% men in Ghana. ED can be caused by a lack of blood flow or nerve damage in the penis. It's crucial to discuss ED with your primary care physician because it could be a sign of heart disease or diabetes. Your health care physician may be able to help you with your ED or recommend you to a urologist.

Our urologists will collaborate with you to create a treatment plan that includes lifestyle changes, drugs, pumps, and surgery. If you smoke, talk to your doctor about how quitting can help your ED.

Urologic Surgery

When feasible, your doctor will offer noninvasive therapies such as lifestyle changes or medications. However, if your condition necessitates surgery, rest assured that our urologists are capable of handling the process.
